Be Still

Be still…do you ever find yourself just wondering about the pace of life you are going at?  Mtngs, planning, thinking, scheduling, etc.

In my quest to free up my schedule to spend more time with God (Sabbatical) and be still before Him, I have found myself struggling to spend time with God and be still before Him!

I join the Apostle Paul when he said "I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection…"  I want to know Christ is working in me and is in charge…I want to know the Father is watching over every part of my family and church …I want to know the Holy Spirit is empowering me and others to further Christ’s Kingdom in this town, region, and beyond…I can’t carry this load…HOW CAN I KNOW THAT?

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God…(Note to self – and we are not God…He is)"

Stressed about your family…be still before Him for a while today.  Stressed about your job…be still before Him for a while today.  Stressed about your future…just be still before Him for a while today.

If we really are serious about knowing that He is the God/Leader of our lives, then we’ve got to be still before Him.  Creativity/Answers to your life issues are typically birthed out of times of rest.

    Thanks for the blog…how true.
I was awakened at 4am this morning…crazy cat. I took it as a time to pray and read the bible. Do you ever pray and then just stop and sit there? I do and I always wonder if it’s because I ran out of words, or I got distracted, or whatever. But this morning I took it as a time to listen. It was different for me. God’s messages on resting are really speaking to me. Why do we continue to act as though we don’t need a rest? We almost pride ourselves on how busy we are or how much sleep we don’t get! Even GOD took time to rest!
Hello…McFly! (that’s from Back to the Future, in case you wanted to know) 🙂
